Stage 1.It is always interesting working in some of the older areas of Sydney. With this particular roof repair we were required to replace a rusted box gutter that lay between two terraces. Water damage was evident internally in both premises and the existing gutter had several large rust holes in it. |
Stage 2.The pitch of the roof tiles was approximately 60 degrees making access and working conditions difficult. The first process was to remove both courses of roof tiles to allow the box gutter to be removed. |
Stage 3.The existing gutter was then removed. The new custom ordered gutter was carefully marked, cut and installed with a new spout for the connecting downpipe. It was then lifted into position and screwed into place. |
Stage 4.After the installation the terracotta and cement roof tiles were laid back into position. Finally the ridgecapping and gable end tiles were rebed and repointed using a flexible pointing compound. Restoring the leaking roof back to its original condition. |
